Emergencies Are Our Expertise
In order to provide 24/7 emergency services to our community we have a team of emergency veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and highly trained client care professionals. Our doctors and staff care for over 15,000 emergent and urgent care cases annually.
Because of this caseload, AERC has developed a triage index system to help prioritize incoming cases which allows our doctors to examine patients based on criticality, in conjunction with the time of arrival. This system has helped save countless lives because it reduced the wait time for these emergent cases.
Some of the conditions that our emergency veterinarian treat include trauma, shock, respiratory distress, seizures, bleeding disorders, allergic reactions, fractures, vomiting, and diarrhea.
We strive to provide exceptional patient care while simultaneously supporting the client’s emotional needs. We are dedicated to helping our clients make the best decision for their beloved family member, in balance with their financial resources, through conversation and involvement in the medical decisions for their pet. Equally, we are committed to fostering a healthy work environment for our staff built on the foundation of support, mentoring, enrichment, and appreciation.

On October 20, 2016 Gabrielle David, MJ “Sutton” Spanton & Dr. Ashley Sides became partners in the ownership of Animal ER Care, LLC (AERC), previously known as Animal Emergency Care Centers. With all three partners having a goal of excellence in patient care and client service, they knew purchasing AECC from Dr. James Gaynor would be the first stepping stone to achieving that goal for Animal ER Care, LLC.
